Challenge 81 | Your Next Stamp

I played along with a sketch and color challenge at Your Next Stamp this week and I was definitely taken out of my element.

The Sketch challenge wasn't an issue but the color challenge for me was a bit out of my comfort zone.
I enjoyed it and probably would never use light pink with a green color - or even black and pink... I guess they aren't my go to colors but I certainly enjoyed challenge.

This is the sketch -- and the color challenge

Like I mentioned the sketch wasn't an issue but the color combination wouldn't be one I would use on my own ... Here are the 2 cards I created with both challenges.
The first one is called Celebrate --
Supplies
Papers: Simple Stories, Lawn Fawn and Doodlebug
Embellishments: Simple Stories Enamel Dots and Misc. Confetti
Metal Dies: Your Next Stamp - celebrate

I created a shaker card with some left over packaging and used my big shot machine to cut out the word celebrate. I cut 4 pieces of black cardstock and then 1 piece of white. I used some glossy accent on top of the word (made a bit of a mess!)

The Second Card I created is called SNOW FUN --
Supplies
Papers: Simple Stories;
Embellishments: Simple Stories Enamel Dots ;
Ink Pad: Lawn Fawn, Versafine Black Onyx;
Stamps: Your Next Stamp - Hello Winter;
Markers: Zig Clear Color Markers;
other: Tonic Nuvo Drops;

January Sketch | Creative Scrappers

Hello Friends!

It is a new year and it's the perfect time to post a NEW sketch!
With this January Sketch you have the option of creating with a 4"x4" photo or even a 4"x6" if that's something you prefer. I added a few options for patterned papers and maybe you'll try some sewing or stitching for the circles? My journal strips are always a necessity on my pages and of course some enamel dots, paint splats or buttons to embellish the entire page. Feel Free to interpret the Sketch the way that fits your scrapbooking design skills. It's to HAVE FUN and remember "don't over think it"!

I would love to see how you interpret the Sketch.

Sub Zero Holiday Cards | Simple Stories

I created a few cards before the holidays using the Simple Stories collection called SUB ZERO.  It has the cutest little moose, some winter sports equipment and I also love the colors in this collection.

Here are 5 of my cards using this collection.

I didn't send 1 Christmas Card this year. I create them and for some reason they stay in my possession. Do you do that? Create cards and not send any of them? I'm curious!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season!!!

Snow Day & Snow Fun | Simple Stories

Sharing a layout I created for Simple Stories using the SUB ZERO Collection.  It's all about skiing and honestly I've never tried! I've had issues with my knees ever since I was 10 years old and have a serious phobia when It comes to skiiing, skating and well lots more.
I had to dig in my photo albums to find a photo of my husband skiing in Banff and Lake Louise in 1998!  Yes When we first met I took him skiing in the Rockies with a few of our friends.  It really was beautiful and so breathtaking. I enjoyed the ski lodge while everyone was on the hills.

Here is another pic of hubby and I posing in front of the lodge at Sunshine Village.
What great memories.

I hope you enjoyed my layouts today - and you can see more of my work on instagram @KristineDavidson and of course @SimpleStories_ for more great projects from our design team.
